各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

In this season of golden autumn, we welcome the opening day of the 2024 school year on 2nd September. As in previous years, I eagerly waited at the school gate for each student's arrival. For the Primary 1 student, they did not seem unfamiliar, as they had already integrated into our big family through the orientation program in August. The students from Primary 2 to 6, on the other hand, were even more enthusiastic, their faces radiating boundless anticipation for the new school term.

在八月下旬，我們的老師們便已經回到了熟悉的校園，開始了新學期的準備工作。其中，STEAM教育成為了我們下一年度發展的重點。為此，我們特別邀請了香港教育大學的萬志宏教授及其團隊來到學校禮堂，為我們帶來了關於“SWEETIE”沉浸式工程設計科創課程的精彩講解，並為老師們安排了專業的培訓工作坊。今年，這些創新的STEAM課程將正式在高小年級實施。

At the end of August, our teachers returned to the familiar campus to begin preparations for the new school year. This year, STEAM education has become a key focus for our development. To that end, we specially invited Professor Wan Chi-hung and his team from the Education University of Hong Kong to the school hall to deliver an exciting presentation on the "SWEETIE" immersive engineering design and innovation curriculum and organized professional training workshops for our teachers. This year, these innovative STEAM courses will be implemented in Key Stage 2.

此外，我們還為老師們安排了校本資訊技術工作坊，旨在提升他們在課堂上運用資訊技術的能力，從而激發學生的學習興趣和提高學習效率。而每年開學前，我們都會特別為老師們舉辦戲劇教育工作坊。這幾年來，老師們通過運用戲劇教學法，成功地引導學生們主動表達自我，享受學習的樂趣。今年，我與中文科主任鍾老師以及訓導主任傅主任共同設計了多種遊戲來激發大家的參與熱情，並展示了不同的戲劇習式。老師們積極參與，反響熱烈，紛紛表示這樣的活動既有趣又有效，還增進了彼此之間的瞭解。

Additionally, we arranged a school-based information technology workshop for our teachers, aimed at enhancing their ability to utilize technology in the classroom, thereby stimulating students' interest in learning and improving learning efficiency. Every year before the school year starts, we hold a drama education workshop for our teachers. Over the past few years, our teachers have successfully used drama teaching methods to encourage students to express themselves actively and enjoy the learning process. This year, together with our Chinese subject panel, Ms. Chung, our discipline master, Ms. Fu and I designed various games to inspire participation and showcase different drama techniques. The teachers were actively involved and responded enthusiastically, expressing that such activities were both enjoyable and effective, while also enhancing their understanding of one another.

在九月份，我們還為同學們安排了學校旅行。這次旅行的目的是為了讓同學們有更多機會與老師、同學溝通交流，增強班級歸屬感。幸運的是，那天天氣晴朗，同學們有的打排球、有的打籃球、有的舉着彩虹傘歡笑、有的玩躲避球、有的談天說地、有的在室內打乒乓球和桌球、還有的在滑梯上盡情玩耍。當然，也有一些同學選擇到小食部享受美食。這次旅行讓大家在輕鬆愉快的氛圍中加深了彼此之間的友誼。

In September, we also arranged a school picnic for our students. The purpose of this picnic was to provide students with more opportunities to communicate and interact with teachers and classmates, strengthening their sense of belonging to their classes and school. Fortunately, the weather was sunny that day. Some students played volleyball, some played basketball, some held rainbow umbrellas and laughed, some played dodgeball, some chatted, while others enjoyed ping pong and billiards indoors, and some had a great time on the slides. Of course, some students chose to visit the snack bar for treats. This trip allowed everyone to deepen their friendships in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

此外，三年級的同學們還安排到了騎術學校學習騎馬，有些同學參加了千人揮毫賀國慶活動，還有同學到屯門大會堂欣賞了英語話劇《無事生非》。我們始終堅持“經歷為本”的教育理念，為同學們提供更多參與不同活動的機會，以拓寬他們的視野和知識面，並鼓勵他們不斷學習、不斷進步。

Primary 3 students participated in equestrian lessons at a riding school, some students took part in a large calligraphy event celebrating National Day, and others went to the Tuen Mun Town Hall to enjoy an English drama, "Much Ado About Nothing." We always adhere to the educational philosophy of "experience-based learning," providing students with more opportunities to participate in various activities, broadening their horizons and knowledge, and encouraging them to continuously learn and progress.

在九月二十三日（星期一），我們全校師生齊聚禮堂，舉行了一場別開生面的班呼比賽。各班同學們精神抖擻、大聲喊出自己的口號，為自己的班級加油助威。這場比賽不僅增強了班級凝聚力，還讓同學們在歡聲笑語中感受到了集體的力量。

On Monday, 23rd September, all teachers and students gathered in the hall for a unique class cheer competition. Students from each class shouted their slogans energetically to cheer for their teams. This competition not only enhanced class cohesion but also allowed students to feel the power of community amidst laughter and joy.

而九月二十一日（星期六）則是我們的開放日。前一天，我們已經邀請了學校附近的幼稚園小朋友們到校玩攤位遊戲並參觀校園。開放日當天，隨着一場激烈的足球比賽拉開序幕，家長們的加油聲和孩子們的歡笑聲交織在一起，構成了一幅溫馨和諧的畫面。比賽結束後，大家合影留念。隨後，開放日正式開始，家長們和幼稚園小朋友們在學校各處參觀遊覽，包括禮堂、英文室、操場和地下課室等地方。同時，我們還組織了豐富多彩的活動供他們參與體驗。我也為家長們舉辦了一場小一講座，解答了他們提出的各種問題。最讓我欣慰的是，家長們對學校的肯定和對“LTY是一所充滿愛的學校”的認同。

Our Open Day was held on Saturday, 21st September. The day before, we invited nearby kindergarten pupils to the school to play booth games and tour the campus. On Open Day, an enjoyable football match kicked off the events, with parents cheering and children's laughter mingling, creating a warm and harmonious scene. After the match, everyone took photos together. Following that, the Open Day officially began, and parents along with kindergarten pupils explored various areas of the school, including the hall, English classroom, playground, and underground classroom. We also organized a variety of engaging activities for them to participate in. I held a seminar for parents of first graders to address their various questions. What pleased me the most was the parents’ appreciation for the school and their recognition that "LTY is a school full of love."
